I come from a small mining village in northern Quebec and I spent most of my summer jobs working for mining companies located near the Canadian Arctic Circle. Sustainable development in northern communities has always been a passion for me.

I was very intrigued by Norway and its international reputation for sustainable development of cities located in the Arctic. My experience at the University of Nordland provided me with a better comprehension of Norway’s vision related to ecological economics and oil exploration in the Arctic. In addition to fruitful professional contacts, I had the chance to experience the kindness and generosity of the Norwegian people.

I will never forget this extraordinary experience and I thank north2north program, University of Nordland and Université Laval for giving me this opportunity.
