The book was edited by Dr. Nafisa Yeasmin, Prof. Satu Uusiautti, Prof. Timo Koivurova and Prof. Timothy Heleniak and focuses on four themes: immigration and labor market; gender and Arctic migration; the role of local languages and education in integration; and outward migration from the Arctic.

The articles in the book bring up regional differences in policies and their implementation. How to promote innovative solutions to the challenges of cultural differences, acceptance, integration into local communities, and joining the labor market by acknowledging also the perspectives of well-being?
