Introduction to the Methods of Sociological Research
Introduction to the Methods of Sociological Research (SOCI 3040)
Provides familiarization with the processes and reasoning sociologists use for posing and answering sociologically grounded questions. Both qualitative and quantitative research design and analysis will be explored. We take you 'behind the scenes' of the research process to provide foundational research skills, familiarity with interpreting and gathering numerical data, and a stronger capacity for students to critically evaluate the research-based writing in sociology. All sections of this course follow Quantitative Reasoning Course Guidelines available at www.mun.ca/hss/qr.
