Diverse Arctic: Local Challenges — Global Changes

Northern (Arctic) Federal University invites international students to take part in the spring semester programme “Diverse Arctic: Local Challenges – Global Changes” starting from February 2013. This interdisciplinary English-taught programme is constituted of four compulsory courses which give insights into societies, politics, history and cultures of the Arctic with special focus on the Russian North.

The program includes 4 courses, 10 ECTS each:

1. Crossing the Borders: Changes and Challenges of the Russian Politics in the Arctic (1990s-2000s);

2. Society, Diversity and Human Development in the High North;

3. The Arctic as an Art object;

4. The Arctic during the Second World War.
