Work life today is characterized by rapid changes and unexpected crises. When crises and emergencies occur, organizations are required to deal with these in a professional manner. This puts increasing demands on managers and organizations personnel and requires them to have efficient knowledge of and practical skills in how to handle and lead a successful response and how to plan effective strategies for continuous development of preparedness and crisis management.
This master’s degree programme offers management-oriented education in emergency preparedness and crisis management. The programme targets leaders, managers and other staff holding safety and preparedness responsibilities in both public and private organizations as well as professionals within the field of emergency preparedness.
The programme in Preparedness and Emergency Management is an experienced-based master’s degree comprising 90 ECTS and lasting for three years. The programme is mainly taught in Norwegian. The programme requires applicants to hold a bachelor's degree or an equivalent education of 180 credits, as well as two years of relevant work experience following graduation. The study location is Bodø.
