Extreme Environments

Glacier climbing. Mountain hiking. What happens in the body when you train in extreme environments? How does the body react? What happens with the mind? Come to Arctic Norway to learn and explore.

How does the human body react physiologically and cognitively on high altitudes and in extreme environments? In this course, field-based experience and practical excersices are central concepts. You will measure physiological and cognitive responses to extreme cold whilst building snow caves, skiing and ice climbing.

The course consists of 20 ECTS and can be combined with NO106L Norwegian for Foreigners, 10 ECTS which runs from January to May.
