Environmental Risk

Environmental Risk is a multi-disciplinary, international master's programme that gives you scientific knowledge and methodology to assess and manage environmental issues on a large scale.

The purpose of Environmental Risk is to provide a interdisciplinary, international master's program in environmental risk with the goal to provide graduates with the necessary scientific background and tools to bring environmental science into the assessment and management of environmental issues. The program is based on an interdisciplinary approach to solving environmental problems. Although the emphasis is on the theories and methods of natural sciences, the program includes elements of relevant social sciences so that the students lerarn how science is put into practice in the real world management of risk.

Environmental risk includes environmetal risk assessment (ERA) which involved the assessment of risks resulting from natural events (e.g., volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, landslides, flooding and other extreme weather events), technology and agent (e.g., chemical and biologcial) that may pose threats to ecosystems, animals and people. ERA hence provides the input and scientfic basis for the implementation of existing and proposal of new legislative and regulatory programs.
