Environmental Engineering

Master’s Programme in Environmental Engineering, aka BEE, is built on research on environmental protection and industrial processes. The programme combines the time-tested engineering issues such as relevant technologies, processes and management skills with sustainable production and environmental awareness. The programme has two majors (study options): Clean Production and Water & Environment. The Clean Production (CP) option includes studies focused on reducing the environmental load of the process industry, and provides knowledge on how to manage environmental issues within the industry by application of proper methods, tools and technologies. The Water & Environment (WE) option includes studies on protection and restoration of the natural environment, as well as water and soil pollution, water and waste water treatment, and waste technology. The Clean Production (CP) option includes studies focused on reducing the environmental load of the process industry, and provides knowledge on how to manage environmental issues within the industry by application of proper methods, tools and technologies. The graduates of the BEE programme will have a scientific approach to environmental protection and management of natural resources, and skills and knowledge for both scientific and applied work in industry and academia as environmental engineers. Apart from technologies, processes, and management skills, the BEE graduates will also be able raise awareness about sustainable development internationally.
