Peoples and Culture of the Circumpolar World

The Circumpolar World and Indigenous peoples. Ethnography and history. Analysis of natural communities (traditional communities of Indigenous peoples before contact with Europeans) and secondary communities (non-Indigenous enclaves in the North ).

The discipline "Peoples and Culture of the Circumpolar World" covers the history of the formation of man in the circumpolar world since ancient times. It shows the material and spiritual culture of indigenous peoples of the Arctic. The course focuses on the environmental component of the peoples who have managed to preserve their world in its original form. The next section of the subject is devoted to the development by Europeans of the northern territories, the relationship of alien populations with the Arctic peoples and the gradual adjustment of modern forms of state relations with the indigenous peoples of the Arctic.
