Innovative Learning Institute for Circumpolar Health
The Innovative Learning Institute for Circumpolar Health will allow northern nursing students to connect with, learn from and share perspectives on northern nursing practice and indigenous and northern community health. The course is organized annually.
Learners will:

- Examine challenges of health professionals in rural/northern community health, e.g. expectations, confidentiality, ethics;
- Appreciate the role of the community itself in health outcomes in a northern or indigenous context;
- Describe and compare jurisdictional and cultural differences in health care provision across the circumpolar North.
Future Summer Institutes will be held in Tromsø, Norway (2017) and Lapland, Finland (2018).
