Arctic Marine Geology and Geophysics Workshop

The research of AMGG focuses on the development of Arctic continental margins including genesis of glacigenic sediments; geohazards, paleoclimate and paleoceanography, energy and environment; tectonics and structural geology.

This course attempts to give more trust to marine geological/geophysical research, to enhance international cooperation, integration, and visibility of Norway's contribution to research in the Arctic.

The main study area is the fjords and continental margin of Svalbard, Northern Norway, the Barents Sea, the Arctic Ocean and the East Greenland margin. The aim is to arrange at least one new workshop every year on a relevant research topic, to keep students up-to-date on Arctic marine geological/geophysical research.
