Renewable Energy Systems

To fight the climate change we must create sustainable and more efficient ways to produce energy.

After completing this course you understand the importance of renewable energy systems for energy production, climate change and sustainable development. You will understand the principles of energy production systems based on renewable energy sources and can roughly design energy systems for different applications. You are able to take into account boundary conditions and constraints when connecting renewable energy systems to other systems or existing energy production units.

You will learn about the development stages, current state, limitations and potentials of different renewable energy systems and understand the life-cycle perspective and cost-effectiveness of their choice. In addition, the you will become familiar with decentralized energy production and various hybrid systems.
