This course deals with permafrost and periglacial processes, and their variation in space and time. It focuses on how permafrost affects ecosystems, hydrology and the global carbon cycle. The course assesses how permafrost is represented in modeling, with a special emphasis on permafrost hydrology. The most recent research is reviewed.
