Education and Labour Markets
The course explores the characteristics and constraints on labour markets and education policy in remote regions.
The course explores the characteristics of labour markets and education policies with a focus on regional development. Students will learn about the challenges regarding undiversified labour markets and the so called “brain drain” that rural and remote communities are confronted with. The role of (higher) education in remote settings will also be addressed. In exploring the interaction of higher education and rural developement a gendered perspective will be addressed.
Prerequisites: Completed undergraduate studies, regardless of whether BA, BSc, BEd, or other equivalent study. It is important for applicants to have a good knowledge of English, as all teaching takes place in English.
