Call for registration: Virtual discussion - Meaningful Collaborations in Polar Research, Polar Policy, & Polar Communities

Polar Impact

Polar Impact invites registration for their Impact Mentorship Initiative Event Series panel discussion on meaningful collaborations in polar research, polar policy, and polar communities.

This virtual discussion will take place 28 February 2023, 9:00-10:00 Eastern Standard Time.

Whether participants are building a career in polar research, have decades of polar experience, or want to learn more about how communities, scientists, and decision makers can better work together to solve complex problems, this panel discussion will offer insights and inspiration for all.

Panelists include:

  • Karen Heywood: Professor of Physical Oceanography at the Centre for Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, University of East Anglia, Norwich, United Kingdom;
  • Twila Moon: Deputy Lead Scientist and Science Communication Liaison at the National Snow and Ice Data Center, part of the University of Colorado Boulder’s Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences;
  • Peter Morse: Next-generation lead permafrost expert at Natural Resources Canada’s Geological Survey of Canada; and
  • Arthi Ramachandran: Incorporates science advice into all aspects of Disaster Risk Reduction and emergency preparedness, Office of the Chief Science Advisor of Canada.
