Call for the British-Russian workshop in Arkhangelsk

British and Russian researchers are welcomed to take part in the international workshop within the project ‘Development of the UK-Russia Arctic Research and collaboration Network”, funded by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the UK Embassy in Russia. The workshop will be organized at Northern (Arctic) Federal University November 16 - 17.

The first project workshop took place in Aberdeen on August, 27th as a side event of UArctic Rectors’ Forum and International Conference “Conversations from the North”. At the second workshop in Arkhangelsk the following topics will be discussed by British and Russian researchers:

  • Arctic ecosystems
  • Biodiversity and biomonitoring
  • Climate change adaptation
  • Human dimension in the Arctic
  • Health care and health services in remote places
  • Energy efficiency and cold climate constructions

Within the frames of the workshop the British Council Researcher Connect course will be organized for Russian UArctic member institutions with the aim to upgrade academic writing skills.
