The Arctic Energy Summit is a multi-disciplinary event expected to draw hundreds industry officials, policy makers, energy professionals, academics and community leaders together to collaborate on and share leading approaches to Arctic energy issues. The 2017 Summit will address energy in the Arctic as it relates to:

Small and off-grid community energy solutions - locally-driven solutions, managing loads and incorporating renewables, affordability
Oil and gas development - science and research, HSE, oil spill response measures, regional cooperation
Renewable energy and energy efficiency - paths to implementation, lessons learned, climate change goals
Regulation and Financing - private and public investment and funding mechanism, regulatory barriers and best practices
Transportation and transmission - pipelines and maritime activity, emerging technologies 
The final product from the Summit will be a report to SDWG highlighting best practices and lessons learned, strategic pathways for sustainable development related to energy, pilot projects and research gaps.

Prior Summits, in Alaska and Iceland, have seen participation by more than 15 nations, a diverse range of high level attendees, and a strong list of company and government partners.
