5 new AMAP assessments published
The Arctic Council's Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP) has released five new assessments at the 2017 International Conference on Arctic Science: Bringing Knowledge to Action, which takes place April 25-27, 2017 in Reston, Virginia, USA.
The conclusions and recommendations of these assessments will be presented to the Arctic Council Ministerial Meeting coming up in Fairbanks, Alaska, USA 11 May, 2017.
- Snow Water Ice and Permafrost in the Arctic (SWIPA) assessment
- Chemicals of Emerging Arctic Concern assessment
- Adaptation Actions for a Changing Arctic (AACA) – Barents Area
- Adaptation Actions for a Changing Arctic (AACA) – Bering/Chukchi/Beaufort Region
- Adaptation Actions for a Changing Arctic (AACA) – Baffin Bay/Davis Strait Region
The AMAP assessments are the result of cooperative efforts involving a large number of scientists, indigenous peoples' representatives, and representatives of the Arctic countries and AMAP observing countries and organizations. AMAP science reports are subject to rigorous peer-review.
