The FWT2017 workshop aims to strengthen the academic and professional networks that are necessary to push forward the discussion of future of winter tourism with existing and emergent approaches. For example, snow-based winter tourism is facing challenges and pressures from many directions but also new emerging opportunities.

The workshop is organized by the University of Lapland and Multidimensional Tourism Institute (MTI) and will host keynote presentations by

Daniel Scott (Professor and Canada Research Chair in Global Change and Tourism, University of Waterloo, Waterloo. Canada),
Carlo Aall (Professor, Veslandforskning, Sogndal, Norway), and
Ari Vuorentausta (CEO, Lapland Hotels Ltd., Finland)
