"A thrill for drill": first permafrost summer course at UNIS
In June and July 2014, a lively gang of 25 students from nine countries have been studying the mysteries of the permafrost in the first international permafrost summer school for bachelor students arranged by UNIS.
This year there were 25 participants from all over the world: Denmark, Germany, Norway, Russia, Switzerland, Austria, Japan, USA and Canada. The course will also be offered next year.
The course started on 19 June, and half way through the students had been out in the field drilling in the permafrost and analyzing the core samples in the lab.
