The experts at the event: Ekaterina Protasova, University of Helsinki Professor; Anita Novitsky, specialist at Multicultural Activities Department of Family Federation of Finland; Evgenia Tikhomirova, Academician of Academies of Sciences International Association , the Head of the Personal Fulfillment and Innovative Technologies Laboratory; Anatoly Burtsev, NEFU Pro-Rector for Humanities; Olga Melnychuk, Director of NEFU Institute of Foreign Philology and Regional Studies (IFPhRS), and others.

The aim of this workshop was to produce a comprehensive overview of topics concerning education in terms of multilingual environment and related areas including preserving and supporting Indigenous languages, national and ethnic tolerance, formation of cross-cultural communication, teaching foreign languages in national schools, and so on.

"The workshop will be resulted in establishing contacts with foreign researchers, the development of joint programs and projects, and, consequently, in improving the quality of undergraduate and graduate students education in terms of intercultural space", - said Mikhail Fomin, Professor and the Head of Foreign language Teaching methodology Department of IFPhRS.

It must be noted that the workshop has became especially relevant as 2012 is declared by the Government of Sakha Republic to be the Year of Nations' Unity and Friendship.
