The Institute of Northern Engineering at the University of Alaska Fairbanks is starting a program to test the toxicity of oil and dispersed oil to arctic marine species. The work involves living and working in Barrow, Alaska during the winter, and includes fieldwork and laboratory testing.

The research would fit into a graduate program in many disciplines including environmental science and engineering, toxicology, fisheries research, marine biology, and ecological risk analysis. It would be an
excellent MS or post-doc position. Because time is short, one would not yet need to be admitted to a graduate program to start work.
