The new members officially became part of UArctic during the afternoon session of the Council of UArctic meeting. The meeting is taking place this week at Bodø University College. The new membership count is UArctic's largest to date.
 
"It's great to see so many new members, especially Russian members," said Claudia Fedorova from Sakha State University in Russia, who is chairing the meeting.
 
The new members are:

  •  Høgskolen I Nesna/Nesna University College (Norway)
  •  International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry (ICR) (Norway) 
  •  Memorial University of Newfoundland (Canada)
  •  Northern International University (Russia) 
  •  Sámi Educational Centre (Sweden) 
  •  University Center of the West Fjords (Iceland) 
  •  Yakutsk Institute in Moscow (Russia) 
  •  Yugra State University (Russia) 
  • L.V. Laptsui Performing Arts and Culture college (Russia) 
  •  Salekhard Pedagogical College of the Peoples of the Far North named after Hero of the Soviet Union A.M. Zverev (Russia)
