Northern Studies - one year programme

The World of the High North - How does life in the northernmost part of the world affect nature resources, politics and economy? How can its inhabitants be best prepared for the coming century? If you want to make a difference to the peoples of this region, and prefer an online study, we welcome you to this amazing multidisciplinary one-year experience.


The aim of the program on Northern Studies is to provide a broad introduction to different issues affecting land, environment and sustainability of the worlds northern areas and resources, peoples and living conditions. The educational program consists of five courses, all taught online. The core courses are all designed for self-study/ online teaching backed up by a manual for self-study situations.

If you want, you can proceed with the advanced emphasis courses of minimum 30 credits/ ECTS and electives of 90 credits to make up a complete bachelor degree program, Bachelor of Northern Studies of 180 credits (ECTS).
