The aim of the programme is to provide the students with theoretical insight into and how the travel and tourism business works, and get knowledge of important topics for the business today, and in the future to develop a sustainable travel and tourism business both for the environment, the local societies and the economy.
Travel and Tourism at Harstad University College is a one-year full time specialization for students that have completed a two-year programme at university level.
The programme will form a good basis for the student’s first step towards a position in a tourism-oriented organisation. As this programme in tourism is of an analytical nature, it qualifies the student for positions in both small and medium sized companies within the fields of travel and tourism, export and international enterprises.
The programme also qualifies students to do their master degrees either in Norway or abroad. Harstad College has several partner universities abroad where students can do their master degrees after completing the “International Programme in Travel and Tourism”.
