Northern (Arctic) Federal University held autumn school "Model Arctic Council" (MAC) on September 19-23, 2016. In 2014, a pilot project was carried out on the basis of the same university. This year students themselves organized the autumn school.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks and the University of the Arctic are pleased to announce The Arctic Broadband Forum 2017 to be held in Fairbanks, Alaska, USA, May 8-9, 2017. Proposal deadline: November 15, 2016 - Final program will be ready in February 2017.



IASC Fellowship Program 2017

The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC), in cooperation with the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS), invites Early Career Scientists (ECS) to apply for the IASC Fellowship Program 2017.

A new intern from the University of Copenhagen has started his internship at the UArctic International Secretariat at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi, Finland. 


Today, the first ever UArctic Congress, hosted by St. Petersburg University, concluded following a week of science sessions and key meetings of northern academics from across the circumpolar world and beyond. The inaugural UArctic Congress 2016 gathered 450 participants representing 200 institutions from more than 20 countries. 

This year's Student Forum is organized in conjunction with the UArctic Congress 2016 in St Petersburg. The Student Forum participants have their own program on Sept 12-14, and they will also attend the Congress science sessions and plenaries on Sept 15 and 16.

The second group of UArctic Student Ambassadors receive their training and participate in the annual Student Forum in St Petersburg as part of the UArctic Congress 2016, and also meet Ambassadors from the first group.

From September 12 to 16, St. Petersburg State University hosts the first ever UArctic Congress, the University of the Arctic’s largest meeting to date – with over five hundred participants.

The first ever UArctic Congress is being held in St. Petersburg, Russia, September 12-16, 2016 hosted by St. Petersburg State University. Final preparations are being made and we are looking forward to seeing you all at the biggest UArctic meeting to date, with over 500 registered participants.
