The program provides a unique, challenging and non-traditional combination of classroom instruction and hands-on data analysis, field studies, and thesis research, with instruction provided by world-class experts working in conjunction with university faculty. Take advantage of the emphasis on hands-on learning while at the same time enjoying the unique features of the Icelandic ‘experience’.

Students completing this intensive program can expect to graduate with the conceptual and practical skills necessary for a career in sustainable Arctic marine resource management, but with a well-rounded exposure to all aspects of polar marine science.

The program is being offered in collaboration with the Institute of Marine Research, Iceland's foremost centre for fisheries and marine research.

Applications should be submitted between March 1 and September 1, 2016 for the 2017 academic year.
