VIII All-Russian Festival "PR Days in Yakutia" was held In Yakutsk, Russia, June 18. Development of the Arctic became its main focus as it is one of the key regions in the global geopolitics



The University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) seeks candidates for a PhD student position in meteorology to study air-cryosphere-sea interaction processes around Svalbard and in the Arctic. This is a four-year position and will be based in Longyearbyen, Svalbard, Norway. Application deadline: 15 July 2015.


Every year Norilsk State Industrial Institute leads a joint project with the Finnish company “Norilsk Nickel Harjavalta Oy”. The project is undertaken to develop and enhance professional competences of students to adapt foreign educational and production systems

The Jean Monnet Summer School on European Union and the Law of the Sea will be held in Imperia, Italy on 31 August - 11 September 2015. The summer school is a joint initiative of the University of Genoa and ISRIM. Application deadline: 30 June 2015.

The ArcticNet Network of Centres of Excellence of Canada and its partners are pleased to welcome the Arctic research community to Vancouver for the 11th ArcticNet Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM2015) to be held from 7 to 11 December 2015 at The Westin Bayshore in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Three specialised study tracks (land, sea, space) give you a unique understanding of working as an engineer in the Arctic. The Nordic Master in Cold Climate Engineering welcomes the first students in September 2016. Application deadline: January 15, 2016.

Starting in spring 2016 the Arctic Technology Centre of the Technical University of Denmark offers the Arctic Semester in Extreme Engineering, an opportunity for master-level engineering students to experience the unique environment and the challenges of engineering north of the Arctic Circle. Apply by November 1, 2015.

The 2015 edition of UArctic's annual magazine Shared Voices has been released and is now available for download. This year's theme focuses on our Russian members and partners, interregional cooperation, and higher education and science in the North from a Russian perspective.
